A full editable timeline. Included in the skill.

Your agent edits.
You can, too.

Ask your assistant to show the timeline. The same editor used in the Tellers app opens beneath your preview, so you can shape the edit together.

Edit alongside your assistant
Trim, split and move clips, change titles, and adjust effects and transitions. See your changes in the live preview, then let your assistant continue from your latest edit.
Leave feedback at the exact moment
Add markers and notes at precise locations in the timeline. Press M to mark the playhead, even during playback, and add a note for your assistant’s next pass.

Your edits, markers and notes are saved locally with the timeline. No Tellers account required.

Already have an OTIO timeline?
Render it here.

The player can also render existing OTIO timelines. It’s built on an extended version of OpenTimelineIO, with Tellers conventions for effects, animation and compositing.

Rendering depends on supported timeline features and accessible source media. Application-specific effects may need adaptation.

Local AI. Realtime creative control.

Follow the subject.
Change the scene.

Your agent can use AI masks and subject tracking right in the player. The processing happens on your machine, with no footage upload to Tellers.

AI rotoscoping
Turn a person or object into an animated outline mask. Isolate the subject, replace the background, or place text behind them.
Object tracking
Follow detected subjects across frames. Keep a blur, pixelation or color effect on the moving subject with tracked regions and keyframed masks.

Detection and outline masks need a capable GPU. Model loading and analysis happen before the result is ready; processing and playback speed depend on your device. Download the models first for offline use.

AI motion design. Free to play and export.

Your agent writes SVG.
Your ideas move.

Ask for an animated title, a product explainer or a whole motion design video. Your AI agent creates the SVG animations; the free Tellers player plays them on a timeline and exports the video.

  • Animated typography, shapes, logos and diagrams
  • SVG-based scenes with CSS or SMIL animation
  • Layer with real footage, music and sound effects

No paid motion design software or Tellers rendering subscription. Your AI agent’s own usage costs still apply.

When your footage needs a bigger home

Local is great.
A whole library?
That’s Tellers.

Keep using the free player for local edits. Move to the paid Tellers app or connect the Tellers MCP when you need storage, AI understanding and hosted generation.

  1. 01

    A home for your footage.

Store your videos and projects in one place, ready for your next edit.

  2. 02

An agent that understands the shot.

AI indexing makes footage searchable by what happens on screen and what is said. Give your agent precise context about your source videos.

  3. 03

    Thousands of hours. Still searchable.

Work across a whole footage library. Find the relevant moments without feeding every video into every conversation.

  4. 04

    Generate what’s missing.

Use hosted models to create video, images, voice, music and sound effects, alongside your own footage.

A few useful details

Before you hit play.

What exactly is free?

The local Tellers player workflow: edit timelines, preview your footage and export without a Tellers account or editing subscription. Your AI assistant’s own pricing still applies. Tellers cloud storage, indexing and hosted generation are paid services.

How do I see what my agent is editing?

Your agent opens a live preview in a local browser tab. Watch the timeline take shape, scrub through the video and ask for changes in the same conversation. The player previews the edit directly, so your agent does not need to encode a new video for every revision. Export your MP4 when you’re happy with the result.

Can I edit the timeline myself?

Yes. Ask your assistant to show the editable timeline beneath the preview. Trim, split and move clips, edit text and effects, or add markers and notes at exact times. Your changes are saved locally so your assistant can pick up where you left off.

Do I need to install anything?

No separate video editor or FFmpeg installation is needed for supported media. Give the prompt to your existing AI agent; it prepares the project and opens the browser preview. The local workflow uses Python 3 and an agent with file and command access. Unsupported formats may need conversion first; the format reference lists compatibility.

Will it work with my agent and browser?

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other agents that read skill folders can use the workflow when they have local file and command access. Playback runs in the browser. Chrome and Edge are recommended for export; Safari and Firefox support varies by codec and feature.

Can I keep my videos on my computer?

Yes. The free workflow serves your footage locally without uploading it to Tellers. Internet is needed for the default hosted player bundle and any remote media. Download dependencies first for offline playback; your AI agent may still need its own internet connection.

Can I move an edit into the Tellers app?

Yes. Both use the same timeline format. The skill includes a workflow to upload local media and recreate an edit in Tellers, or bring a Tellers project back to local files.
