The creative voice
About Chad Nelson
Chad Nelson directed “Critterz,” an animated short built with DALL·E-generated imagery and human animation. The project is a useful early example of AI entering a filmmaking workflow through visual assets, rather than generating every finished shot.
For animation-minded creators, this distinction matters. Character design, movement, timing and the final edit are related but different creative tasks. “Critterz” provides a concrete starting point for exploring how generated imagery can work alongside those established crafts.
