Convert GIF to MP4

Turn an animated GIF into a silent H.264 MP4 video directly in your browser. This free GIF to MP4 converter preserves each frame’s timing, lets you change playback speed and exports one animation cycle. Transparent areas become a black or white background.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert an animated GIF to MP4?

Select a GIF, choose playback speed and a background, then process and download the MP4. The converter uses your browser’s GIF decoder and MediaBunny’s H.264 encoder. Use a current Chrome or Edge with ImageDecoder and WebCodecs support.

Will my GIF keep its animation timing and loop?

At 1× speed, the MP4 keeps the GIF’s frame delays, using a minimum delay of 10 milliseconds. It contains one animation cycle rather than an infinite loop. You can enable looping in your video player or repeat the clip in an editor.

Can MP4 preserve GIF transparency or add sound?

This H.264 MP4 output has no alpha channel, so transparent areas are filled with your chosen black or white background. GIF files have no audio; the exported MP4 is silent.
